Camping at Half Moon Bay State Beach

Half Moon Bay State Beach is actually made up of four smaller beaches. The Francis Beach offers guests a campground with 52 different campsites. Some of the sites are for tent camping only and some of the sites support trailers and/or recreational vehicles.

Amenities at Half Moon Bay State Beach

Unfortunately, there are no electrical hookups, water hookups, or sewage hookups available on the campsites at Half Moon Bay State Beach. However, there is a dump station, coin-operated showers, flush toilets, and payphones. There are hiking trails and horse trails that connect the four small beaches together. Dogs are permitted as long as they stay on the campgrounds at all times. Several of the campsites and areas around the four small beaches have been made friendly towards disabled guests as well.

Things to do at Half Moon Bay State Beach

Guests are encouraged to come to Half Moon Bay State Beach to enjoy the beach as well as the culture history surrounding the coast side. Guests come to Half Moon Bay State Beach to walk, job, or ride bikes along the various trails. Dogs can be walked along the trails as long as they are kept on a leash that is no more than six feet long. The park requests that guests refrain from the temptations to remove driftwood, shells, or other natural features of the beach in order to preserve it.

There is a $10 parking fee to get into Half Moon Bay State Beach. Admission to the visitor center is free for all guests.
