Camping at Nancy Lake State Recreation Area

Nancy Lake State Recreation Area is a flat landscape full of lakes. The clear waters are surrounded by beautiful forests, creating an idyllic view.

Camping at Nancy Lake State Recreation Area

There are 13 rustic cabins available for rent. Cabins are available on Red Shirt, Nancy, Lynx, Bald, and James lakes. Cabins are available by reservations only.

Amenities at Nancy Lake State Recreation Area

Cabins are insulated and come with wooden bunks, wood burning stoves and counters. Each cabin also has a fire ring outside and an outhouse. Please bring drinking water and firewood because finding wood can be difficult. Only wood that is on the ground and dead can be used for burning.

Things to do at Nancy Lake State Recreation Area

The park offers great opportunities for viewing wildlife such as beavers, loons, moose, black bears, and arctic terns. Viewing some interesting plant life located all over the park is fun for nature lovers.

The park has activities for summer and winter such as hiking, fishing, canoeing, skiing, and ice fishing. Winter gets very cold at Nancy Lake with temperatures dropping down to 40 degrees below and sometimes even colder. Visitors are encouraged to be prepared and be familiar with winter safety tips.

Fees
Individual Fees:
Nightly camping: $10 to $28 per night
Daily parking: $5 to $10 per vehicle
Boat launches: $5 to $10 per day
Sanitary dump station: $5
Firewood: $8 maximum per bundle where available
Guided tours of historic sites: $2 to $10

Camping and cabins have additional fees.
