A photo from Colorado’s Grand County Search and Rescue (SAR) shows the importance of wearing bright hiking clothes. If, by chance, something happens to you on the trail and you require a rescue, your greens, blacks, and neutrals aren’t doing you any favors. Grand County SAR shared a photo of rocky terrain, and somewhere in that photo is a missing hiker that SAR crews were trying to locate. It’s nearly impossible to see the hiker until you know where he is.

“Last week we had a search for a missing party in the Vasquez Peak Wilderness,” Grand County SAR wrote in the Facebook post sharing the image. “We had a good idea where he was from the 911 call, but sent our drone in to try and spot him. We recommend wearing bright clothes or carrying something like a space blanket so you are easier to locate. Our subject was wearing dark green pants and a black jacket. Sort of like a mossy rock.”
See the photo below. Can you spot the missing hiker? (Scroll to see where he is.)
