‘Catwalk of Death’: Hikers Tackle Sketchy Stretch of Colorado Hike

“The Catwalk,” also called the Little Bear-Blanca Traverse, is a narrow stretch of rock between between Little Bear Peak and Blanca Peak, two 14ers outside of Blanca, Colorado. Nicolas Chappelle recently filmed himself and another hiker walking across the Catwalk, which he jokingly calls “the catwalk of death,” and the video got a lot of attention online.

In the video, Chappelle doesn’t seem too intimidated as he walks, climbs, and shuffles along the Catwalk. At one point, he even turns around in a circle, making everyone watching the video very nervous.

“POV: You’re tiptoeing across the spine of a 14,000ft mountain known as the Catwalk,” Chappelle wrote in his Instagram post sharing the video. “Super fun part of the route and if you’re a fiend for exposure, this will toot your horn.”
