Singer and TV-host Kelly Clarkson got quite the surprise during one of her most recent shows. The surprise came after a couple, who were guest-starring on the show, informed the celebrity that they had named a shark after her. However, to give the shark a bit of its own identity, the name was altered slightly. The infamous shark is now called Kelly Sharkson.

How Kelly Clarkson Got A Shark Named After Her
Andrea Clulow and her husband, Darrell Clulow, are on a mission to teach children the importance of sharks. Although these creatures can be quite terrifying, especially to little ones, this couple wanted kids to know of their importance.
When on Kelly Clarkson’s show, which aired on Jan. 15, the couple told the superstar how they are going about sharing shark knowledge. Andrea, who is a preschool teacher, decided to write a children’s book about the importance of sharks.
The book is called Finn & Friends, and it tells the story of Finn, a Great White Shark, who is celebrating his birthday. Along with the adorable child-like story, the book also discusses “the threats of trash and debris that are thrown into the ocean by humans,” according to the website.
Additionally, the couple works with an organization that has the same name. While on the show, the couple told Clarkson about the inspiration for the entire project. Andrea has always loved sharks, so when she and her husband got the opportunity to go on a research expedition last summer, they did not refuse.
While on the expedition, Andrea told the singer that she and her husband got to “help tag” and “adopt” the first shark on the expedition. The couple decided to name the shark after Kelly Clarkson, calling her Kelly Sharkson.

Naturally, the singer was thrilled at this honor. “YES!” she screamed as she held her mouth wide open. I think anyone would be honored to have someone love them so much to name an animal after them.
