Coyote Swims All the Way to Alcatraz Island and Is Now ‘Thriving’

A coyote swam all the way from the shores of San Francisco to Alcatraz, swimming over a mile in San Francisco Bay to reach the 22-acre island famous for its prison, and it arrived shaky and weak. A visitor spotted the animal swimming and filmed it in disbelief. The video went viral, with folks from the area saying they’d never seen or heard of such a thing happening.
