A deputy in Trinity County, Texas, pulled over in the dark to inspect what he assumed was a dead deer lying on the side of the road. Then, the animal suddenly awoke. The deputy was properly freaked out by the non-dead deer, so he let out a hilarious, now-viral scream.

“This Trinity County deputy was dead wrong when he thought that was a dead doe,” wrote local 12News in an Instagram post sharing the video.

The unnamed deputy shrieks and yells “it’s awake!!” as he runs back into the parked vehicle. Then, he and his partner start laughing. The footage is making thousands of other people laugh, too.
