One family in Virginia received a surprise visitor at their door. Tabatha Lamun shared the story of how one day a goose sauntered into their garage uninvited. Goose Continuously Shows Up At Family’s Door
The day that the goose arrived in the family’s garage, Lamun’s daughter fell in love with the animal. Naturally, her mother wasn’t thrilled with the idea and prohibited her from interacting with it. However, it arrived again the next day, and she clearly made her desires known.
When speaking to The Dodo, Lamun shared the following about the interaction. “She (meaning the goose) uses her beak and slams it until we finally go to the door.” While it may have been cute or funny the first day, when the goose continuously showed up at the family’s door, Lamun knew something was afoot.
Despite the family’s efforts to lead her away to a nearby pond, the goose made it very clear that the only place she wanted to be was within the Lamun family household. This goose was seeking companionship.
The Most Unlikely Of Friends
After many more days of the goose continuously showing up at the family’s door, Lamun made a choice. She confirmed that none of her neighbors were missing a goose, and then she made her move. The goose was clearly friendly and looking for companionship, so Lamun finally allowed her daughter, Abi, to give the goose a hug.
That was the start of the most unlikely but beautiful friendship. The goose seemed to adore the affection, and from that moment on, she was a part of the family. Lamun and her family created a little sanctuary for the goose, whom they named Gumbo, in their backyard.
While Gumbo was free to leave, she never did. After all, she now had “a little house and two pools”, why would she leave? Gumbo even accompanied Abi to the playground and went down the slide.
