Camp Missouri spoke with Jean about camping near the “Gateway to the Ozarks” at Camelot RV Campground. She also shared some great insights in the area attractions, how she likes to spend her time at the campground and what the campsites are like.

A shady site with full hookups and 50 AMP electric with Cable TV and WiFi provides all the amenities needed to enjoy a nights stay. It is nice to have an RV site where you can see trees and grass.

How long has Camelot RV Campground been there and how did it get it’s start?
Camelot RV Campground has been family owned and operated since 1982. We offer a country/rural setting with forested hills, in the beautiful Ozark Foothills of Missouri.

What are the most popular activities at the campground for your guests?
Open Year Round. You can relax, stay in, watch your favorite programs, catch up on the news, weather, and your emails, or check out the area. We are located close to town for everyone’s shopping, dining, and entertainment needs. Food and car rental deliver to your RV site. We have camping with convenience in mind. You can stay and enjoy the area or make us a convenient overnight stop.

What are some other attractions in the area worth checking out?
Many people enjoy the area springs, lake, and rivers, with canoeing, float trips, and water activities. A paved boat access to Black River is within a few miles. There are many flea markets and antiques to visit along with great restaurants that provide, American cuisine, Chinese, Asian, Mexican, Italian, and everyone’s favorite, Pizza. Our seasons offer brilliant spring and fall colors with winding scenic drives, and we provide year round camping opportunities for everyone.

Which of those attractions is your favorite and why?
Actually all the places to go and things to do have always provided interest to me and my family for generations. I grew up hunting and fishing, and enjoying the winding scenic drives throughout the seasons. I love the area springs, and browsing through the flea markets and antiques. However, at the end of the day I enjoy coming home to the convenience of being close to town with good food and conveniences that comfort all of us.

What are the campsites like? Are they more open or secluded?
All RV sites provide full hookups with, water, sewer, electric 30/50 AMP, Cable TV 61 channels, WiFi at site, with room for your slide outs and tows. Laundry facilities and a propane station is located on the premises. There are open, shady and wooded sites to choose from. Many of the extended stay people like the wooded area.
