Although the USB recharging capability is genius, Coast realized the need to include batteries. You know, just in case it slipped your mind to recharge the flashlight. So the Coast HP7R comes with two rechargeable lithium ion batteries and a cartridge that holds 4 AA batteries, so you are never without power. The pop-up cap on the end of the flashlight exposes the mini USB for charging, or the battery can easily be removed to charge separately. This gives you the ability to charge one battery while using the other one.
Not only is this a technological advancement in the world of flashlight recharging, the inner workings of the HP7R flashlight are pretty legit too. With the speed focusing bezel, you can leave the beam wide to see everything in your path or you can focus the beam to see long distances. Being the thinkers they are, the Coast Products HP7R flashlight can be charged via AC, DC, or USB. Once the battery dies, it only takes an one hour to fully charge, making it a must have for any camp box.
