Incredible Woman Pulls Over For A Stray Dog And Ends Up Saving Thousands

This woman is living my dream. Zully Vasquez Ventura and I share the same passion, saving animals – specifically dogs. However, Ventura has been able to accomplish something I have only dreamed of. What started out as pulling over to help a single stray dog turned into her saving thousands of them.

The Dodo shares that Ventura and her family moved to Cleveland, Texas, after adopting their dog Bella. They made the move with Bella in mind, hoping to find a home with ample yard space for her. While they were successful in finding the perfect home for Bella, there was something about the neighborhood that Ventura dreaded.

“I saw dogs just roaming around, dogs on every corner, dogs in terrible shape, some were emaciated, others didn’t have hair,” she admitted to the outlet. It hurt her heart to see so many dogs suffering. She observed the poor pups suffering day after day until one day she finally had enough.

That was the day that Ventura first decided to pull over and help a stray dog. “I’m like, I have to do something,” Ventura said. “I couldn’t let them starve. I carried dog food in my car; I would pull over and feed some of the dogs that were in really bad shape.”

Additionally, when she spotted a dog in particularly bad shape, with burn marks down its back, she helped even more. She took photos of the poor, wounded animal and posted about him on social media. Little did she know that taking photos of that stray dog would lead to her saving thousands.

How One Woman Is Saving Thousands Of Dogs

That photo of the stray dog that Ventura posted didn’t go viral overnight. Instead, it only got two likes, but she didn’t give up. She posted again, with a renewed sense of urgency. Then, a woman from ThisIsHoustan rescue saw the post and offered to save the dog.

“From that moment on,” Ventura told the outlet, ” I said, ‘I did it once. I can do it again and again and again.'” And so she did. With her newfound sense of success and inspiration, Ventura hit the streets ready to rescue another stray dog. She took food and water to them and took massive amounts of photos and videos.

The Dodo shared that “she developed a writing style that captured what she witnesses each day.” With her determination and writing style, she has been able to save thousands of dogs. Various rescues would take the gods that Ventura posted until eventually, she and a friend started their own nonprofit. The Daily Kibble of Cleveland, TX, helps “feed, vaccinate, and rescue dogs while promoting low-cost spay and neuter programs.”
