While jogging in Northern Jutland, Denmark, a man came upon a wolf and a wolf pup, and the wolf was not happy to share the space with the runner. The man, Brian Mosgaard Johansen, recorded his terrifying encounter, which included the male wolf chasing him, baring its teeth, and following him as he tried to retreat. Johansen did the only thing he could—yell at the wolf in hopes it deterred the animal from attacking. Thankfully, it worked.

Wolf Westsachsen, a Danish citizen-science organization dedicated to wolves, shared the video, suggesting that the presence of the pup cause this male wolf to act aggressively toward the man. Even so, the organization suggests this isn’t really normal behavior.
