Footage of a mountain-lion group exploring a backyard in Colorado is gaining a lot of attention online. For about three minutes, you can watch mountain lions walking around, staring down the homeowner, and trotting off together into the distance. A YouTube video from ABC 7 News shows a combination of security-camera footage and a person’s personal cellphone footage (presumably the homeowner’s). It’s pretty wild.

“A pride of mountain lions prowled around home in La Plata County, Colorado, footage from June 14 shows,” ABC wrote in its YouTube video caption. “This footage shows the animals captured on security camera wandering around the property before being filmed scoping out the back yard of the home.”
The homeowner said her property is near a highway for wildlife. Notably, her area is home to animals like bears and mountain lions. Mountain lions roam throughout much of Colorado, with the state’s estimated population being 3,800-4,400. According to Colorado Parks & Wildlife, their preferred habitat includes areas of piñon pine, juniper, mountain mahogany, ponderosa pine, and oak brush.Â
