Backpacker Katie Pistello says she’ll never recover from the moment she summited a mountain only to watch helplessly as her pack bounces down the mountain she just climbed. Ugh, it’s heart wrenching just to think about. And yet, it’s kind of funny to watch. (But only because Pistello posted a video making fun of the situation.)

The footage shows her pack—undoubtedly full of important supplies—bouncing down the steep slope of a mountainside. You can’t hear what she’s saying during this moment, because the video is set to music with lyrics that sum up what we’re all thinking—OH NO.
“I’ll literally never get over this,” Pistello wrote in her Instagram caption sharing the painfully funny video. “Watching my pack yeet itself 450ft down the mountain at 8:40pm, in the wrong direction, when we were just minutes away from setting up camp and getting cozy. My soul left my body. And it still hasn’t returned.”

As to what exactly happened to cause her to lose her pack, Pistello sheds some light on that in a comment reply. “It was a class 4 scramble with some 3-4ft drops,” she wrote. “Ascending was fine enough, descending was more challenging bc of our packs. So we started to take our packs off, drop them down the 3ish ft and then jump down. Welp. One of the times I thought I dropped it with care, but clearly didn’t realize the landing wasn’t flat and baby girl slowly tumbled and then she picked up speed, FAST.”
