The Dodo shared the story of Baby Doll, a baby alpaca. Let me tell you that poor Baby Doll’s story started with tragedy. The outlet shared that when the alpaca was just four weeks old, “her mother fell sick and passed away.” To make matters even more disheartening, her human caretaker also fell ill at the time, making it nearly impossible for him to continue to care for the baby alpaca.

Fortunately, Baby Doll’s owner knew that he needed help. Therefore, he reached out to rescuers at Edgar’s Mission to assist with his current situation. The rescuers agreed to take Baby Doll to their far sanctuary. It was there that she formed the most adorable friendship. The baby alpaca’s journey at the sanctuary started with her basic needs being met.

The rescuers ensured she had a warm place to sleep and received proper amounts of food. However, despite their best efforts, there was one thing that humans could not provide: companionship. Luckily for Baby Doll, Peanut, and Butter, a pair of motherless rescue goats were willing and able to fill that role.

The Cutest Friends In The World

When speaking with The Dodo, Edgar’s Mission founder shared the importance of relationships for alpacas. She shared that “Alpacas are especially sensitive and herd-oriented animals.” Therefore, it was imperative that Baby Doll find her own herd. Until she connected with other animals, this baby alpaca would not feel entirely safe.

Fortunately, she was able to form the most adorable friendship with both Peanut and Butter. However, this baby alpaca’s friendships don’t end there. She also welcomed Venus, a rescue calf, into her herd as well. These incredible bonds are further proof that even after the worst tragedies, happiness and love can still be found.
