Two snowmobilers became one moose’s guardian angels after they dug the distressed animal out of deep snow in New Hampshire. According to local news, the men initially saw the animal in passing, but they decided to steer clear. When they passed it again several hours later, though, they realized the moose was still stuck, and that’s when they jumped into action.

The men carefully dug the young moose out, compacted the snow in places to help it gain a footing, and cleared some branches—all in a valiant effort to help it get free. WBZ News says the effort took the men about an hour.
