Pakistan’s Balochistan Forests & Wildlife Department recently announced an exciting find—a Persian leopard spotted on a thermal imaging camera in Hingol National Park. According to the department, the sighting is very rare.

“Captured on thermal imaging at a naval camp near the Sapat area of Hingol National Park on April 6, 2026, a rare and magnificent Persian Leopard was sighted—offering a glimpse of one of the region’s most elusive predators,” wrote the Balochistan Forests & Wildlife Department in a Facebook post sharing the footage. “The Forest & Wildlife Department has swiftly deployed teams to safeguard its existence and ensure continued protection of this majestic species.”
