Tips To Improve Your Ice Fishing Game

Ice fishing is one of those things that’s easy to start and difficult to master. The “Women On Ice” Club is out there every weekend, and they know what works, and what doesn’t. Here they share a few of their pro tips to help you improve your ice fishing, and catch more fish! If you want to learn more, and maybe even attend an event, be sure to check out the Women On Ice Facebook page.

Ice fishing involves a lot of sitting and waiting. Some days the bite is hot and some days it’s not. One thing that makes a big difference is a comfortable chair. On this trip, we were using the GCI Outdoor Kickback Rocker. It worked particularly well for ice fishing for several reasons. First, the back portion of the legs is attached to a “ski,” which prevented it from sinking too far into the snow, making it stable. Second, it’s the right height. When you’re ice fishing you’re constantly checking your bait, removing ice from the hole, etc, so easier access to ground level is more comfortable. Lastly, despite it being a comfortable rocker-style camping chair, it still folds into a compact size, so it’s easy to strap on the back of a snowmobile for scouting locations.
