Trail-Cam Owner Weirdly Attracts Three-Legged Animals

Haelee Modisett and her trail cams tend to attract three-legged animals. Modisett told local news outlet Beaumont Enterprise that her friends jokingly call her the “three-legged queen,” because these tripod creatures tend to gravitate toward her.

Modisett’s first three-legged animal is Three-Legged Craig, a “peculiar-looking buck” that has three legs and a “spindly rack.” She told Beaumont Enterprise that the deer shows up on her family’s eastern-Texas property each fall without fail. Modisett first saw Three-Legged Craig in November 2021, presumably shortly after the injury that claimed most of his front leg. She didn’t expect the animal to make it through that winter, but he did, and she’s delighted in spotting him on the trail cameras every year since.

Here’s one TikTok video of Three-Legged Craig from Modisett’s trail cams:

Recently, Modisett also spotted a three-legged wild boar on her game cameras and she named it Three-Feet Pete. She estimates the animal is near 300 pounds.

Though she doesn’t have photos of it, Modisett has also crossed paths with yet another three-legged animal—a three-legged coyote on her family’s property. We’re eagerly awaiting this one’s name . . .

What are the chances of one trail-cam owner spotting this many animals with three legs?

Have you ever seen a three-legged animal in the wild?
