‘Volume up for Panic Noises’: Skier Tumbles Down Frozen Waterfall

Sean Toms was backcountry skiing in Hokkaido, Japan when the unthinkable happened. The skier stumbled across a hidden, waterfall that was nearly frozen over, and he tumbled down it. His helmet camera caught the terrifying moments on video. Thankfully, Toms walked away without any injuries.

“How not to ski the hokkaido backcountry,” writes Toms in an Instagram post sharing the viral video. “Volume up for panic noises. Super lucky to walk away from this one with no injury’s [sic]. Great learning on the unique hazards that Japan has to offer, at least the water was warm.
