WATCH: Baby Bobcats Trot After Their Mom on a Trail Cam

Picacho Peak State Park in Picacho, Arizona shares trail-cam footage on Facebook each week as part of a series called Wildlife Wednesday. Recently, the park shared an adorable video of a bobcat mom and her two babies.

Videos by Outdoors

In the video, which faces the harsh sunlight, you first see an extreme closeup of a mom bobcat walking past the camera. Then, you see her two baby bobcats trotting along after her. They’re so teeny; they look like kittens, except for their stubby tails, of course.

“Although the true reason bobcats have stubby tails is still debated among scientists, some suggest that it’s a mixture of not having to climb trees to chase their prey since they mostly hunt hares and rabbits, and conserving energy by not having to maintain a long tail and preventing heat loss correlated with surface area,” Picacho Peak State Park says in the video’s caption.
