“We were on our way home from a rattlesnake call, when we turned on our street and saw what appeared to be a large dog at first,” Stanberry wrote in an Instagram post sharing footage of the rare animal. “We quickly realized it was a critically endangered Florida Panther, there are only about 200 Florida panthers remaining in the wild.”
Florida panthers (Puma concolor coryi) are an endangered subspecies of mountain lion that lives only in the eastern United States.
