When Snoqualmie, Washington recently experienced significant rain and flooding, residents witnessed an unusual sight down at the local middle school. Elk were swimming in the school’s flooded field, because it was that deep. Scott Remick captured a video of the swimming elk and shared it with local news.

KIRO 7 News shared the footage on Facebook, attracting over 31,000 reactions and nearly 1,000 comments. Many people chime in to say that elk are excellent swimmers. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a weird thing to see, though.
