Insane footage from Guatemala shows tourists filming a group of coatis when, suddenly, the region’s apex predator, a jaguar, leapt from the shadows and snatched up its prey. At least two people caught the moment on camera and shared it online.

“Still in shock — while filming coatis in Tikal today, a jaguar suddenly appeared and grabbed one right in front of us,” wrote Gerard (gerardxjose) in an Instagram post sharing the video. “An absolutely incredible, once-in-a-lifetime moment to witness in the wild.”

Gerard’s video shows the moment in slow motion, and you can see just how long it takes for the woman in the white top to react to the jaguar. It’s incredible how fast it all happens.
