In a real-life version of the Hungry, Hungry Hippo game that we’re going to call “Angry, Angry Hippo,” a hippo chased some tourists who were on a boat in Kenya’s Lake Victoria, and the footage is a bit terrifying. Just picture being on the back of a boat and seeing an animal that can weigh up to 9,920 pounds hurling after you at what can only be described as a furious gallop. Someone in this exact position took a video of it happening, and the video continues to terrify and delight the internet three years later.

Inside Edition shared the footage on its YouTube page without saying who took the video. The caption reads:
“Tourists aboard a boat on Lake Victoria in Kenya were out for a ride when they spotted a hippopotamus eyeing them from several meters away. All of a sudden, this giant animal wasn’t having it! The shocked sightseers kept their cool as the massive hippo chased their boat, diving in and out of the water.”
Inside Edition also adds that hippos kill over 2,900 people annually. These territorial animals sure will put up a fight, even against a lion that encroaches on their turf. So, next time you’re hanging out in Africa’s rivers, watch out for those round, wiggly ears, and stay clear. As you’re about to see firsthand, these massive mammals can move.
