Wild Lion Charges Photographers, But What Happened Next?!

Wildlife photographers Casey Cooper and Robert Paslaqua were on a walking safari when a male lion charged at them. It doesn’t seem like the men were very far away from the African predator, but they lived to tell the tale. A short video showing the lion charge is getting a lot of attention online, and everyone wants to know how the two photographers are still alive.

“Not going to lie @robert and I had to change our shorts after this one,” Cooper wrote in his Instagram post sharing the video. But people in the comments section were quick to request a longer version of the video. In reply comments, Cooper explains that there is no longer version. The lion bluff charged at them, and he dropped his camera. Then, presumably, the two men just walked away.

Paslaqua added a comment saying he thinks the animal didn’t like the noise his camera made, and then the two photographers banter a bit about how Paslaqua clearly made a mistake leaving his camera’s sound on, but maybe the lion just didn’t like him. The two men can make light of the situation now that it’s over, but they probably saw their lives flash before their eyes in that moment.
