Some intimate moments between a mother and baby otter caught on film will most surely melt your heart. Oahu, Hawaii-based photographer Ash, who runs the account @ocean.8.0.8, shared a video earlier this year from Morro Bay, California. In the video, two otters in their natural environment interact in the sweetest way possible.

First, the fuzzy baby is floating on its back and the mama otter gently brings it closer to her, placing the baby on her belly. The mama otter nuzzles her baby, takes a break to eat, then brings the baby back in to snuggle some more.
Meanwhile, the baby otter just seems happy to be there. It just floats around looking fluffy and beyond adorable.

About Sea Otters
Southern sea otters live in the Pacific Ocean off the central coast of California. They like to eat clams, mussels, sea urchins, and other shelled invertebrates, using a rock to crack open their prey’s hard shells.
Sea otters spend a lot of time floating on their backs, just like in the video. They sometimes form groups called “rafts” by holding hands to keep together.
