WATCH: Everglades Python Hunter Finds These Animals Instead

In search of an invasive 20-foot Burmese python in the swamps of Florida, Garrett Galvin discovered lots of Everglades animals, just not the 20 footer he was looking for. Galvin posted a video showing all the critters he did see on his recent hunt, and the video got over 2 million likes. The video is likely so popular because of Galvin’s seemingly cavalier attitude toward encountering some of the Everglades’ most dangerous creatures.

For instance, Galvin’s video starts off with a close call with a giant American crocodile. Totally fine. He also casually picks up a cottonmouth snake at one point, and then he walks barefoot into a swamp that’s literally swarming with “swamp puppies” (we assume that’s his nickname for American alligators).

Along the way, Galvin finds some cute and non-harmful animals, too, like a baby cottontail bunny and several nonvenomous snakes. Notably, on this particular trip to the swamp, the python hunter does capture several invasive Burmese pythons, but none of them are as massive as he’d hoped.
