A mystery animal hanging out with a small herd of deer off the side of a road in West Virginia has one woman (and everyone who sees her video) very confused. Local WSAZ 3 News interviewed Brittany Keller, the woman who recently spotted the mystery animal on her way to work and showed her cellphone footage to several other people from the area. No one could identify what they were seeing.

The footage taken from Keller’s vehicle shows some deer grazing in a wooded area to the side of the road. Then, suddenly, you see a non-deer animal crawling across the frame—a small mammal, by the looks of it. The footage is grainy, but you can tell the mystery animal is about the size of a small dog, and it has a long thin tail.
Some people theorize it’s a lemur, but wildlife officials say that’s highly unlikely. Lemurs only live in Madagascar. One wildlife official has another theory, though.
