The tables turned when a man on skis who was curiously watching and filming an owl ended up toe to toe with the owl, which became very curious about him. The owl flew right up to the skier, landed at the foot of his skis, then dramatically looked up at him. The man believes the owl was trying to send him a message.

“I tried to approach the owl. He came to me. Nature touched me,” wrote Janne Kummala in Finnish on his Instagram post sharing the video. “Nature sent a messenger [asking] ‘Where have you been?'”
Kummala seems to hope that his viral video of the curious owl will inspire people to spend more time in nature as it inspired him. It was quite a beautiful and powerful moment he experienced, so we don’t blame him for thinking the encounter might be more than pure coincidence.
