Heavy rains in California led to the swelling of the South Yuba River in northern California, creating this dangerous situation.

“First responders with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, and the Truckee Fire Protection District rescued nine occupants from a house on the South Yuba River after it swelled following heavy rain,” wrote KTLA 5 in an Instagram post sharing the footage. “Crews used a ladder to carefully slide a baby carrier over the raging river.”
