According to CNN, alligators’ presence in the water complicated the process of retrieving Hamilton’s body, but officials have now done so. Local news also reported that officials have recovered a large alligator from the area—presumably the one involved in the attack.
The incident marks the second fatal alligator attack on a human in Florida so far this year.
