An injured owl was helplessly lying on a road in California after crashing into the ground. Thankfully, California Highway Patrol officers were up for the rescue. They carefully lifted the owl and put it into a box before handing the animal over to Castaic Animal Control. The incident happened near Stevenson Ranch in the Santa Clarita Valley of Los Angeles County.

“An adorable owl was rescued late Thursday evening by the California Highway Patrol after crashing onto a busy Southern California roadway,” wrote the California Post in an Instagram post sharing the footage, which shows the injured owl, wide-eyed and blinking, as the officers prepped for the rescue.
