An alligator didn’t know what to make of a sandhill crane’s behavior as the bird circled the large reptile, wings spread wide and head bowed low. Then, it apparently “led” the gator into a pond at a golf course in Florida. Local news shared a woman’s video of the odd wildlife moment, which has nearly a half-million views.

WFLA News Channel 8 wrote: “A sandhill crane was caught on camera confronting an alligator at a Winter Haven golf course.” Is that what this is—a confrontation? Some people in the online community suggest that crane must be a mother with a nest nearby.

“The crane reminds me of the HOA committee in my neighborhood,” jokes one person in the comments section.
“I’d rather deal with the gator over a sandhill crane any day,” states another.
