As a hurricane-force rain and wind battered the Gulf Coast yesterday, at least one Florida resident appeared unruffled by the severity of the weather. A hawk managed to perch on a backyard fence in Florida, bravely facing the wind that threatened to blow it away. Footage of the hawk from mshirleyphoto is now going viral.

“He legit said ‘Come get me Hurricane’,” she joked in her TikTok post sharing the video.

Several people note in the comments section that the hawk could have sought shelter, but it didn’t, inferring that it must like to be out in the rain.
“Rain bathing! Opening the wings allows the water to penetrate deeper. Way cool catch!” wrote one person in the comments section.
