In Long Beach, California, residents are not used to big waves battering the coast, because of the breakwater just off shore. But, thanks to Hurricane Marie, there are currently massive waves in Long Beach and all along the coast of southern California. In fact, the Long Beach Fire Department issued an evacuation order for residents who live next to the ocean.

Meanwhile in beach cities up and down the coast, including Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Malibu surfers are coming out in droves to try their hands at catching the monster waves they don’t usually see.
