Camping at Kartchner Caverns State Park

Kartchner Caverns State Park has wonderful camping accommodations for visitors to take advantage of. There are many camping areas visitors can choose to stay in and all of them provide water and electricity. The accommodations are designed for RVs but visitors who choose to camp out in a tent must still pay the same fee RV owners pay. With three handicapped sites, four host sites and many other sites, anyone can find the perfect accommodations at the park.

Amenities available to campers include the Visitor Center a.k.a. Discovery Center, a gift shop and the Bat Cave Café. The Cave Tours offered throughout the year are the Big Room and Rotunda/Throne Tour. Visitors can tour the Big Room between October and April every year. This tour first began in 2003 to show visitors the cave’s beauty. The tour lasts an average of one hour, 45 minutes and is a half mile in length. Of the hour and 45 minute tour, about one hour of it takes place underground. The story of the cavern, which is told during the tour, is about discoveries that have been made in the cave in the past and the present.
