United By Blue Women’s Bison Zip-Up Jacket

United By Blue (UBB) is one of my favorite outdoor brands. Their Bison Zip-Up Jacket is lightweight, weather resistant, comfortable, and functional. It’s part of UBB’s bison line. The interior contains 50% BisonShield insulation, which is a temperature-regulating material made with salvaged bison wool. (The other 50% is regular wool.) The jacket’s exterior is 100% recycled polyester.

Every purchase from UBB contributes to a cause. The company cleans up one pound of trash from Earth’s waterways for every item sold. They’ve cleaned up over 5 million pounds of trash so far.

NOTE: I also love UBB’s leggings for women and unisex Bison Trail Socks.

Howler Brothers Men’s Voltage Quilted Jacket

A new addition to Howler Brothers’ outdoor apparel for men is the Voltage Quilted Jacket. It has 60-gram PrimaLoft Gold insulation inside of a water-resistant quilted polyester rip-stop shell. This jacket is so lightweight, you wouldn’t expect it to be as warm as it is. It also packs down small for times you’ll need an extra layer for part of the day but not all of it.

You’ll love the look and the feel of this quilted jacket as well as its functionality. It has a large mesh pocket on the inside of the jacket and a non-mesh inner pocket on the other side. On its own or as a mid-layer, this is a great fall jacket to have in your arsenal.

Free Range Equipment Canvas Pack

Free Range Equipment’s line of Canvas Packs is stunning, and there’s an artist’s print that’ll call to you—I’m sure of it. For me, I chose Lakeside. No matter which print you choose, one of these packs would make the perfect bag upgrade for fall adventures.

These bags aren’t your traditional hiking backpacks, but they’re cleverly designed to meet your adventure needs. There’s a large main compartment, plus a top lid pocket, a hidden security pocket, and an internal mesh pocket. There’s also a waist belt, an adjustable sternum strap, and a removable back pad. I would recommend not putting heavy items in the top lid pocket.

Love the concept but want a smaller bag? I also love Free Range Equipment’s Canvas Phanny Packs.

Coalatree Unisex Apparel (Evolution Hoodie and Trailhead Pants)

I fell in love with Coalatree’s Trailhead shorts this summer, so it’s not surprising that I also love the company’s wildly popular Trailhead pants. These ripstop nylon pants are antimicrobial, water resistant, stain proof, and stink proof. They’re also stretchy and have really deep pockets.

These pants are unisex and come in two different fit styles—slim fit and regular fit. They also come in a wide range of colors and sizes, so there’s bound to be a perfect Trailhead pant for you.

Another fall recommendation from Coalatree is the Evolution Hoodie. Each hoodie is made from three cups of recycled coffee grounds and 10 recycled plastic bottles! The resulting moisture-wicking, quick-dry material is super soft. In fact, this hoodie is adventure-ready in all the right ways. It even tucks into its own pocket, turning into a convenient travel pillow.

Vasque St. Elias Waterproof Hiking Boots (Men’s and Women’s)

The St. Elias waterproof hiking boot is a quality boot that’ll take you to new heights or lengths, depending on your trek. Stylish, comfortable, grippy, and totally waterproof, Vasque’s St. Elias aren’t cheap, but you won’t need to replace them anytime soon.

My experience with the St. Elias boots has been great. I wore them the first time without breaking them in and didn’t get any blisters or sore feet. I’m continually impressed by the grip on these, even when the soles are wet. I’ve waded through shallow rushing water in them, and they keep water out. One of my boots creaked at first, but some leather conditioner took care of it.

Roark Apparel (Men’s Layover Traveler Pant, Women’s Campfire Pant, Unisex Hiker Hoodie)

Roark’s adventure-ready goods are perfect for fall adventures. For men, the Layover Traveler Pant is a great, versatile choice for everyday wear or for being active outdoors. They’re comfortable, have a bunch of pockets, and they look great. Wear them on a plane or for chopping wood.

For women, I like the Hiker Hoodie (can also be unisex) and the Campfire Pant, both oversized and super comfy. The Hiker Hoodie has beautiful outdoorsy embroidery that’ll make this a go-to piece in your fall wardrobe. The Campfire pants are ember resistant, water resistant, and feature lots of pockets with zippered or magnetic closures. They’re the perfect fall-camping pants.

Paradis Sport Women’s Underwear (Seamless Thong and Natural Fiber Bikini)

Active women, listen up! Paradis Sport makes some great underwear for sport, outdoor activities, and everyday life. This fall, if you need to refresh your underwear drawer, take a look at this company, which focuses exclusively on women (and female athletes test all their products).

I tried the seamless thong and the natural fiber bikini. I appreciate that both look great under pants and leggings, and they’re incredibly breathable and soft. Four-way stretch fabric moves alongside you, whether you’re hiking or rock climbing, and every pair of undies is made from high-quality materials.

Grundéns Deck-Boss Ankle Boots (Men’s and Women’s) and Kids Guppy Rain Boot

Designed for anglers, the Grundéns Deck-Boss Ankle boots will keep your feet comfortable and dry even when your environment is wet. They have a nice thick insole, an incredible grip on wet surfaces, and an anti-odor liner. If you’re an outdoors-person who’d rather use performance boots than your typical rain boot, these are fantastic.

For kids, Grundéns now offers the adorable Guppy Rain Boot. These waterproof rubber boots are easy to slip on and come in a bunch of colors that’ll make your little adventurer excited to wear them. From puddle splashing to rainy fall camping trips, the Guppy Rain Boot will keep your kids’ feet dry no matter what nature throws at them.

Landmark Project Unisex Apparel (Give a Hoot Hoodie and 1872 5-Panel Camp Hat)

Landmark Project’s French terry unisex Give a Hoot hoodie is giving so many fall vibes. It’s soft and cozy, and it screams: “I’d rather be outdoors” (if you aren’t already outdoors, of course). You’ll get appreciative comments everywhere you go while wearing this nostalgic retro-inspired hoodie, which features Woodsy Owl and his famous motto: Give a hoot, don’t pollute.

The 1872 5-Panel Camp Hat is another must-have item from Landmark Project’s fall line. Named after the year the first national park was established in the U.S., the 1972 camp hat features lightweight fleece construction and an attractive color-block design that comes in two colorways. This hat is definitely coming camping with us this fall.

Bearbottom Clothing Men’s Natural Dye Graphic Long-Sleeve Tee

Unshrinkable, stretchy, and oh-so-soft, Bearbottom Clothing’s natural dye graphic tees are my husband’s favorite outdoorsy tops. He fell in love with their short-sleeved tees this summer, and he loves their long-sleeved tees for fall. If you want to give outdoor vibes no matter what you’re doing, Bearbottom Clothing is a go-to for men.

The company uses natural dyes and a unique printing technology to ensure its graphics will never fade. Honestly, though, the best part is how these tees feel. They’re way beyond your typical cotton tee and deserve a regular spot in your fall getup.

XERO Shoes Ridgeway Mesh Low (Men’s and Women’s)

I own several pairs of XERO Shoes, but the Ridgeway Mesh Low is my husband’s first pair. Though it took his feet a few wears to get used to the zero-drop feel, he’s coming around to the dark side. Having struggled with foot pain on and off for many years, I am a believer in barefoot-style shoes like XERO’s for hiking and beyond.

The Ridgeway Mesh Lows are lightweight, multi-function shoes that you can wear every day or take on the trails. They’re flexible, breathable, and have a nice wide toe box. This pair has removable 3-mm insoles you can choose to keep or remove, depending on how “barefoot” you want to feel. The outsoles are grippy, and there’s a moisture-wicking lining inside.

Smartwool Classic All-Season Merino Base Layer (Men’s Top, Men’s Bottom, Women’s Top, Women’s Bottom)

Depending on where you live, it may be time to break out those base layers for fall outdoor activities. You can’t go wrong with Smartwool’s all-season Merino base layers. These base layers are timeless and will last you year after year with proper care.

Smartwool uses Core Spun technology—Merino wool wrapped around a nylon core. This unique system adds durability to the garment while still keeping Smartwool’s responsibly sourced Merino wool next to your skin. While not soft like silk, these are top-notch base layers that fit well and do their job to insulate without retaining moisture or holding in too much heat.
