One vehicle owner in Colorado was in for an unpleasant surprise when a black bear broke into the parked car and couldn’t get out. In its attempt to escape, the bear wrecked the car’s interior. The Manitou Springs Fire Department and Colorado Parks and Wildlife came to help unlock the door and relocate the bear to a safer place.

“Keen enough to open the door from the outside, the bear was stumped once trapped in the vehicle,” explained The Colorado Springs Gazette in an Instagram post sharing photos and videos of the destruction. “For the next several hours, the bear would fight try to his way out, destroying its ‘captor’ in the process.”
There was food inside the vehicle, and the owner had left the doors unlocked, making it an easy target for a bear. Unfortunately, once bears have an easy win, they’ll often be back for more.
