B’s Camping in Central Florida: B’s Marina and Campground
Camp Florida: I’m talking with B this morning from B’s Marina and Campground in Florida. How’s it going, B?
Videos by Outdoors
B: It’s going okay.
Camp Florida: So, how long has B’s Marina and Campground been there and how did you get your start?
B: It has been a campground since probably the ’50s. They acquired in ’97.
Camp Florida: Okay. And what types of camping do they offer there?
B: We have RV, tent, and that’s it. RV and tent.
Camp Florida: Okay. How many tent sites do you have?
B: We have two areas. It’s hard to say. Depends on how big the tents are. They’re just large grassy areas, and we can put – well, I’ve had people come with six, eight tents, so you can put six or eight on one side and five and six on the other, but we don’t normally do it that way. We try to keep groups together.
Camp Florida: Okay. And what are the most popular activities there for the guests?
B: Fishing. Birding. Hiking. Biking. All the above.
Camp Florida: Okay, and how about attractions in the area? Let’s say I was staying there for the weekend and I wanted to head out for a day. Where would you recommend I check out?
B: Theater Key is great. Donnellan is great for antiquing. It’s almost at – the Wildlife Park is outrageously excellent. And the (Unclear 1:31.4) Pathways, which is right here in town, which is excellent also.
Camp Florida: Okay, two more questions for you, B. If you were going to spend just one hour hanging out at B’s Marina and Campground, how do you like to spend your time there?
B: Lord, I just like to watch the wildlife.
Camp Florida: Nice. Yeah, I see a picture on your website here. It looks like you have some wildlife right on the lawn there.
B: We do. We get otters and we get eagles. We get wild pigs. We get alligators. We get them all.
Camp Florida: Cool. And if you were going to spend just one night at B’s Marina and Campground, which specific spot would you stay at and why?
B: Which specific spot in the campground?
Camp Florida: Yeah.
B: Oh, they’re all good. They all face the water. You’re right on the river, so they’re all good. Any of them.
Camp Florida: Perfect. Well, hey, thanks so much for taking some time out of your day today, B, to talk to us about B’s Marina and Campground in Florida.
B: Not a problem.
Camp Florida: All right, take care.
B: Thank you.
