Camping Emma Wood State Beach in California

Emma Wood State Beach experiences very moderate ocean temperatures almost year round making it an ideal spot for individuals who want to fish, swim, or surf. Guests can fish for perch, cabezon, bass, and corbina. The freshwater marsh attracts beautiful creatures including red-tailed hawks and songbirds.

Camping at Emma Wood State Beach

Camping at Emma Wood State Beach is on a first come, first serve basis by reservation only. Due to the extreme popularity of the campsites, guests are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible. Emma Wood State Beach only offers their guests primitive camping for self-contained vehicles such as RVs. Guests are not permitted to use tents on the campground.

Amenities at Emma Wood State Beach

The campsites at Emma Wood State Beach do not feature restrooms, water, electricity, phones, dump stations, or fire rings. Many of the campsites are not level due to a mixture of dirty, cobble, asphalt, and ocean debris. For this reason, guests are asked to use extreme caution when driving. Due to the very small turnaround areas, vehicles can only be up to 40 feet long. The campgrounds are dog friendly as long as they are kept on a leash at all times. Guests are not permitted to take their dogs with them onto the beach.

Individuals come to Emma Wood State Beach to enjoy mountain biking, fishing, camping, hiking, wild life viewing, picnicking and swimming. The park goes offer easy, moderate, and difficult hiking trails for guests of all skill levels.
