Steve’s Favorite Thing To Do In The Campground
I would sit in the river, relax and talk to interesting people.

Steve’s Favorite Campsite
#12 is LARGE and in the back where it is very unique.

How long has DD Hwy Campground been there and how did it get it’s start?
This awesome campground opened in July, 2013. There are tons of beach area right on the Castor River. This is one of the top rivers in SE Missouri and is so clear and cool. We have a publc restroom with showers inside and out. Total hookups with water, sewer, electric, everything! This is a unique getaway or a great place to just stop on the way.

What are the most popular activities for your guests?
Meeting new people, enjoying the river, lots of trees and really cool spots down by the river. We have a unique beach that also has trees and we will be putting some Adirondack chairs and some tables down there for people to sit. We want our guest expierence at this campground to be awesome.

What are some other attractions in the area worth checking out?
There are many attractions in the area. Jay’s Winery is right in Marquand. Jay has it going on and has great food and the best and I mean the best wine around.

What are the campsites like? Are they more open or secluded?
Most sites are open and have trees around the sites. This campground is very unique for the open areas with still having tons of shade. We have taken out a lot of trees and we still have so many that we might have to take a few more. Shade is everywhere and very uniquely right on the river.
