Camping Near The Grand Canyon At Kaibab Camper Village

Camp Arizona had the opportunity to speak with Joy Stavely, owner of Kaibab Camper Village to discuss popular activities in the park, best places to camp and things to do in the area. Read below for insights to camping near the Grand Canyon.

Most all of the campsites are excellent. We would recommend the full hook up sites over the dry sites for overall views and seclusion.

Kaibab Camper Village

When was Kaibab Camper Village founded? How did it start?
My husband and I purchased Kaibab Camper Village in 1995. The previous owner held it for about 20 years.

What are the most popular activities at that park?
Most people stay at our Park because of it’s proximity to the Grand Canyon National Park and Kaibab National Forest. We are the closest campground with full hook ups to Grand Canyon National Park.

Where is Kaibab Camper Village located? What are some other attractions in the area worth checking out?
Kaibab Camper Village is one mile southwest of Jacob Lake Inn at Jacob Lake, Arizona. Travel south on Highway 67 from Jacob Lake Inn for about 1/4 mile, watching the blue RV park signs. Turn right on Forest Road 461 and go about 7/10 of a mile. The Kaibab Camper Village is on the left.

camping near the grand canyonThere are numerous hiking and biking trails departing from the campground and throughout the Kaibab National Forest and Grand Canyon National Park. There is horseback riding nearby. There is an old restored, historic cabin within walking distance from the campground. Stay with us while visiting Grand Circle attractions: 
Grand Canyon North Rim, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and Lees Ferry/Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Lees Ferry has
Blue Ribbon Trout fishing.

How many campsites are at Kaibab Camper Village? What are they like? Open or more secluded?
There are 86 full hook up sites at Kaibab Camper Village and about a dozen dry sites plus numerous tent sites. Most sites are nestled among the trees and offer a good mix of shade and sun.
