‘Epic, Surreal’ Stingray Gathering in Florida Will Blow Your Mind

The See Through Canoe Company recently posted drone footage of a man in a see-through canoe moving through the most insane gathering of stingrays you’ll probably ever see. This annual gathering of cownose rays apparently takes place every year around the same time in Tampa Bay, Florida.

“Epic. Surreal. And Awesome!” wrote The See Through Canoe Company in a TikTok post sharing the video. “The cownose ray gathering in Tampa Bay this winter was epic. The water was unusually clear this year which really helps the footage look way better and more eye popping. This gathering typically only lasts for 3 days.”

This gathering typically only lasts for 3 days. I’ve been working on filming for a made for tv nature documentary so the timing of the clear water was very welcome.
