Fossil hunter Jason Howery made a dream discovery recently while searching for fossils in Missouri. Howery filmed what appeared to be a large fossil in an icy-cold waterway, and then he set up his camera as he entered the water to check it out. Pretty soon, Howery realized he was looking at something truly mind-blowing, likely a femur of a Colombian Mammoth.

Howery told local news that he believes the bone hasn’t been seen or touched in over 10,000 years. He claims he knew it was the real deal as soon as he touched it, saying Ice Age bone tends to have a unique “sticky and glassy” texture to it.
