Gray Whale Spotted Swimming in Willapa River (Video)

The Willapa River in Washington State isn’t where you’d expect to see a massive saltwater species like a gray whale, but people spotted one there nonetheless. Locals have dubbed the lost juvenile gray whale “Willapa Willy.”

“Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife confirmed a juvenile gray whale was spotted this week in the Willapa River near Raymond, in Washington state,” wrote KGW 8 News in an Instagram post sharing footage of Willapa Willy.
