Over the last two decades, Swedish outfitter Fjällräven has been sponsoring adventurers from around the world to explore the Arctic in an initiative called Fjällräven Polar.
What began as a dog sled race, modelled after the Iditarod, has evolved into an invitational challenge for everyday adventurers to apply and participate in.
Last year, over 15,000 people from around the world applied, and 20 were selected.
In April 2024, 20 new participants will be selected to join a new expedition as it ventures over 300km across polar terrain. And as of today, you can apply to join.
How to Apply for Fjällräven Polar 2024
Fjällräven Polar 2024 kicked off Monday morning with the global launch event. You can watch it below, where you can find out more about the route and hear about the experience from some past participants.
After you’re familiar with the event, you can apply to join the expedition here.
You must fill out a form to qualify for consideration.
Finally, you’ll be asked to participate in a series of challenges on Instagram. According to Fjällräven, applicants will need to: “respond to these challenges by uploading videos, images or text to Instagram and tagging @fjallravenofficial, #FjallravenPolar2024, and the challenge number: #Challenge1, #Challenge2 or #Challenge3.”
A series of judges will then review all applications and announce winners on December 11.
