Two married van lifers were camping on a cliff in Utah when they came across a random hole in the ground. The husband did what anyone would do when he saw the hole; he found a rock that would fit and dropped it in. What happens next made him run to get his wife so she too could drop a rock into the hole.

Hunter of Hunter & Hannah was the one who first found the random hole, which appears to have been drilled. He filmed himself dropping the rock, which falls for an unnerving amount of time. He couldn’t believe it, so Hunter ran to get Hannah, who drops her own rock and has a similarly shocked reaction.

Hunter says in his caption that the experiment was “for the boys,” but clearly everyone is enjoying it, since the video has nearly 15,000 likes. One of the top comments attempts to calculate the depth of the hole based on the amount of time the rock was in free fall.
“17 seconds of fall time = 1418 meters = 4652 feet = 4.3 Eiffel Towers = 258 giraffes = 7900 bananas,” wrote one person. Do you think it’s that deep?
