Imagine minding your business when all the sudden, you see one of the rarest animals in North America running down the street. You might drop an expletive or two, right? You’d definitely reach for your phone and try to get some video evidence. This is exactly what William Gonia did when he randomly saw a wolverine sprinting down the street in south Eugene, Oregon.
Cascadia Wildlands shared Gonia’s footage on Instagram. In the video, Gonia hilariously says: “What the f***? Dude!” He seems genuinely shocked that there would be a wolverine in a residential area of Eugene.
“A confirmed wolverine sighting occurred in Eugene this week,” wrote Cascadia Wildlands in the Instagram caption. “It is likely this is a dispersing juvenile looking for appropriate habitat to establish their own territory. They’ll make their way to more remote locations away from humans quickly. Wolverines are an imperiled species protected by the federal Endangered Species Act – making it illegal to harm, harass or kill these amazing critters.”
The organization further states that there are fewer than 300 wolverines in the contiguous U.S., so, in our opinion, Gonia’s eff bomb is warranted.
