“More than a dozen canine competitors and their owners traveled to Pacifica from as far as Brazil to participate in [the] annual World Dog Surfing Championships,” wrote San Francisco Chronicle in an Instagram post. “Hundreds of spectators filled the beach, braving fog and 55-degree air, many bringing their own dogs. They chatted with competitors, posed for photos with the surf dogs and dodged waves as they vied for the best spots to watch the action.”

The footage shows dogs looking ridiculously adorable in their doggy life vests as they shred some waves. One pup named Charlie wags his tail furiously as he rides all the way to the beach and dismounts to cheers and applause.

“This absolutely wins the Internet today!!” wrote one person.

“This brings me so much joy to watch!!” commented another person.
